Not sure where to post this, so this seemed as close a place as any

I need to download the apache server, but for some reason I'm a total idiot when it comes to this. (probably a weakness in terminology) so if anyone knows about this kind of thing, and can talk to me like I'm a 3 yo, so I might have the smallest possibility of understanding.....it would be greatly appreciated.

More info to know what kind of help I need.

and it's all greek to me, I can't even figure out what to download and the initial directions just are not penetrating my noggin.

I've used xampp a bit. I'm not very familiar with it so I cannot say much.

Ya know, guess it depends on what type of environment you are trying to install Apache in...

Windows? Linux?

WAMP or LAMP? (Windows Apache MySql PHP or Linux Apache MySql PHP)
