Etched Soap Bottle

How to make an etched Dish Soap Dispenser Tutorial via lilblueboo.com

This is such a quick and easy project that anyone can do! I picked up this olive oil dispenser at Marshall’s for $3.99 and thought that with a little glass etching it would be a much nicer soap dispenser than the generic plastic bottle version. You can pick up glass etching cream at most large craft stores.

Glass etching is the process where the glass is given a rough texture until it has a “frosted” look.

I used my Silhouette machine to cut out the letters “Dish Soap” from a piece of vinyl contact paper but you could easily use an exacto knife to cut out such a simple design:

I placed the stencil onto the bottle and made sure all the areas were adhered:

Following the directions of the etching cream, I brushed a thick layer on top of the stencil and left it on for a few minutes:

After the cream had time to “etch” the glass, I washed it off in the sink and peeled off the stencil:

The finished etched glass:

Hubby filled the bottle with soap…..

…..and finished!
