Tissue Paper Cherry Blossoms Empty
PostSubject: Tissue Paper Cherry Blossoms   Tissue Paper Cherry Blossoms EmptyThu Apr 07, 2011 3:29 pm

I've been craving a little more Springtime color in my life, and since Spring seems to be taking it's sweet time getting here, I thought I'd share my solution! I loved how my tissue paper flowers turned out earlier this year, so I adapted them to fit a more specifically Spring-y look!

Materials Needed:
Pink Tissue Paper (I've used a bright pink and light pink)
Dead branches (I got mine out of the pile of wood we pruned in the fall)
Hot glue and hot glue gun
Scissors

First, fold the tissue into squares about 3" big:

Next cut a five petaled flower shape out of the folded tissue. They don't have to be perfect...in fact I think they look more realistic if they're a little 'off.'

Layer two of the flower shapes on top of one another, so that you can see the petals of each showing.

Add a tiny dot of hot glue to the center of the flower, and gently scrunch it together.

Here's sorta what they should look like: http://sarahndipities.blogspot.com/2011/03/how-to-tuesday-tissue-paper-cherry.html

Next glue the blossoms onto the dead branch, in places where it looks like something might naturally sprout!

Ta-Dah!! Instant Spring Blossoms! And the best part is that the petals don't fall off and make a mess!

Happy Spring!!

"The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers."
~ Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh

Our love and thoughts are with the people of Japan at this time of devastation.*** Sarah
